The only room in the home should contain a multitude of functions. It doubles as a living room, dining room, bedroom, children’s room, and sometimes even an office. The owners’ job is to organically group all these roles in a small space without losing comfort and coziness.
If you opt for a 1-room apartment, you prefer combined furniture. For example, a small studio can be equipped with an additional fold-away bed that can be folded up into the closet. Instead of a bulky desk, you get a comfortable office that becomes a proper home office.
Use free space. Attach bookcases under the window and over the door, put a collection of dolls or family photos over the sofa. Instead of decorative tables, use wooden boxes or boxes with lids – inside, you can store a magazine, blankets, or other necessary things that should be at hand.
Separate part of the room with a shelf or a light curtain. To save space, order a loft bed for your baby. You can put a table for lessons in the lower area or equip a storage space for toys. Make sure that there is adequate lighting so that the improvised children’s room is not too dark.
Buy a stylish screen. If necessary, it covers the dismantled bed or uncleaned items, blocks the bright light from the computer or TV screen, and decorates the room.
If you love indoor floriculture, pay attention to the ceiling. Hang the pots as high as possible and open decorative vines of leaves and let them curl across the empty space of the ceiling. Your room will look like a magical greenhouse, and green pets won’t take up free space from their owners.
When choosing cabinets, give preference to open shelves. You can put books, ceremonial dishes, souvenirs, collections, CDs and other necessary items. Put sundries in boxes and place them on open shelves – so they’re always at hand.
If the apartment has a balcony, try to combine it with space. Warm-up, think about heating. You can have a cozy bedroom, a room for a teenager, or an office set up in this small space. Please note that this conversion requires special approval. You should have a rubber mat at the entrance of your room for yourself and visitors to wipe their legs.
