Couch handles a lot of difficult time and traffic, as it is a center of attraction for a seating spot. The unpleasant odor on the couch is created by the combination of dirt, spilled food and drinks, pets and moisture. The couch is a magnet for the unpleasant smell. As it is placed in the central location of your space it can absorb the odor of every kind. No matter what type of odor is trapped in the couch it can easily be removed using the following tips.
Before cleaning and deodorizing the couch make sure to dust off the debris or any loose hair and dirt. Make sure to vacuum it as that alone can help remove the smell without needing any additional cleaning agents.
When vacuuming the couch starts off by removing the cushions from it. Use the fabric nozzle of the vacuum to clean away the dirt form the base, headrest and arms of the couch. Vacuum properly on both the sides before setting the cushions back to place. If your couch still is slightly musty an air freshener could help remove that with the pleasant smell.
Homemade recipe
Baking soda can be used as a natural homemade odor remover. This alkaline powder is effective in absorbing and removing hard odors. This powder is nontoxic and cheap, it is also an overnight deodorizing solution too.
To use this remove the cushions and put them on a flat surface. Sprinkle dust the baking soda on the either side of each of the seating cushions as well as on the backrest and the armrests. Let the powder sit on the sofa overnight and then vacuum all the odor absorbed residue the next day and place back the cushions.
